Traveling Advice That Will Take The Hassle Out Of Traveling

Are you looking for tips to make your travel less stressful and more productive? You have come to the right place. We can help you travel more effectively. If you will read and follow our tried and true tips, you will have a more successful, less stressed-out trip.

To find accessible travel arrangements, contact your auto club or other travel guides. You can also check online, check with your local airport, or seek out special services that arrange travel for people with disabilities. This is a niche area in the field of travel, and you may be able to find a very capable and knowledgeable travel agent who specializes in arranging accessible travel.

If you are going to a different country, it is best to exchange for local currency once you arrive at your destination. Many times you will get a better exchange rate than you would in your home country. Nothing beats saving some money when you are going to be traveling.

Be flexible. If your travel dates can be tweaked by a day or two, try using the “flexible dates” feature of most online travel search engines. This allows you to search departure and return dates within a given range. By just changing your dates by a day or two, you may be able to score huge savings on airfare.

Social networking sites can serve as wonderful resources while you’re traveling. A quick Tweet or Facebook status update asking such questions as: Where’s a great place for ice cream in New York? or Which coffee shop should I check out in Rome? can provide you with a wealth of instant information.

Adjust to a new time zone faster by spending time in the sun. When you arrive at your destination, try to get plenty of sun exposure on your first and second days. This will help “set” your circadian rhythm to be in line with the local time zone and help you get over jet lag faster.

If you’re traveling to a country where you’re likely to want to enjoy a bottle of wine, bring along your own corkscrew. If you don’t know the area or speak the language, tracking down a corkscrew just for that impromptu picnic can turn a relaxing afternoon into a harried scavenger hunt.

When traveling on a road trip with children, be sure to pack games for the ride. The items should not weigh too much or be too difficult to clean up. Dry erase boards, cards and activity books are all excellent choices. You are much more likely to have a peaceful, enjoyable ride if your children stay entertained.

Never keep all your spending methods (cash, credit cards, checks, etc) in one place. If that item is lost or stolen, you will still need access to money. Keep the items you’ll need for the day in a wallet or purse and store the rest in a secure place, like a piece of luggage with a lock or a false bottom.

As you can see, there are many things you can do to have a better, less stressful trip. Our insightful and proven tips will help you to make the most of your travel experience. Follow the tips we have provided and you will have the best travel adventure yet.

The Tour De France, The Worlds Biggest Road Bike Race.

Posted in Dignity Travel

The Tour De France, The Worlds Biggest Road Bike Race.

The Tour de France is the BIG one; it’s the World cup and the Olympics all in one. It has it all, the high mountains, the wind swept northern planes and the heat of the south. It also has the world’s media, all the top teams and riders and millions of cycling mad fans watching. The other “Grand Tours” of Italy and Spain are as exciting, sometimes more so, but they don’t have the thing the Tour has, that unique Tour ness, that unique French ness.

How it started.

It all started in 1903, when the French daily paper, L’Auto wanted to sell more than its competitor, Le Vélo, who at that time was the only paper reporting on cycle racing. It was suggested to the papers director, Henri Desgrange that they should organise a bike race all round France. The first race was 2,428 kilometres split into six stages and was run off at 25.29 kilometres per hour and out of the 60 starters 21 finished and the race was lead from start to finish by Maurice Garin.

The Heroes.

Over the years there has been a lot of heroes in the Tour de France, you could say all the riders are heroes, to win the race once is hard, but to win it five times is phenomenal. Only five men have done this, and one of these has won it seven times. French rider Jacques Anquetil was the first to win the race five times, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and then Spaniard Miguel Indurain all equalled him. Then the American, Lance Armstrong started to win in 1999 and didn’t stop until he had won it a record seven times in a row. This is all the more amazing as he is a cancer survivor and was given a 50/50 chance of life; he beat the cancer and went on to beat all comers in the Tour de France.

The course.

The race starts in a different town every year and every other year it starts outside France, the choice of stage towns is a combination of money and sporting considerations, the towns will pay for a start or a finish, but they need to be near a mountain or a cobbled road or be near other town who want to host the Tour. The Towns pay to be the centre of interest for a day, the Tour also brings in a lot of money in tourism and the Towns collect much more than they pay and the world will remember the name of the Town, for at least a day.

The riders.

All the best riders want to win the Tour de France, but they cant, from the 200 or so starters there is a possible five or six riders who can win, the rest are either helping their team leaders or sprint or mountain specialists who want to win stages or points or mountain jerseys, this keeps the race active and interesting from beginning to end.

The BIG Tour.

The Tour is the biggest, but that has its problems, some Towns are not big enough, hotels etc., the television needs more space, the journalists need more phone lines and computers, more and more people are following the race and the riders can be forgotten about in all the razzmatazz, but its still the biggest sporting event in the world, long may in run!

Travel Writing: All You Need To Know

Travel literature is a coherent narrative of people, events, sights, feelings, adventure and exploration by an author touring a foreign locale. Travel writings related to essay, guidebook, travelogue or itinerary have overlapping boundaries, so are grouped together as travel literature. This article focuses on travel literature that is more of interest to a tourist.

History of Travel Writing
Petrarch ascended Mount Ventoux in 1336 and wrote about this pleasant travel to see the top of the mountain. He made an allegorical comparison between climbing the mountain and his own moral progress in life. After him many travelers noted their travel impressions. In 1589 Richard Hakluyt published his travel voyages, which remain the foundational text of the travel literature. Robert Louis Stevenson is pioneer of tourism literature.

Types of Travelogues
Some great travel specialists, travel worldwide and make their living by writing about it. Paul Theroux, Jan Morris (travel historian), Eric Newby and William LH Moon are a few of them. Some author’s travel writing intersects essay writing e.g. V.S. Naipaul’s “India, A wounded civilization and Rebecca West’s ‘Black lamb and grey falcon.’ Travel and nature writing tends to merge in many works. Gerald Durrell and Ivan Sanderson are such naturalist authors. Charles Darwin’s famous account of journey on HMS Beagle intersects science, natural history and travel.

Literary travel writings based on authors’ experiences are also very popular. Some authors are Samuel Johnson, Charles Dickens, Robert L Stevenson, D.H.Lawrence, John Steinbeck and Evelyn Waugh.

Homer’s Odyssey, allegorical journeys of Dante’s Divine Comedy, Voltaire’s Candide or Jonathan Swifts Gulliver’s Travels are the fictional travelogues of the mythical journeys.

Unpublished literary writings are available as online travel journals or travelogues written on the move while being constantly updated.

Travel Guides
These are a series of publishing’s dealing with a particular country, city or region. They provide useful information on hotels, restaurants, sight seeing and other travel tips. These are particularly handy for first time travelers and are mostly compiled by specialists.

Travel Writing
The two basic objectives of travel writing are to inform readers of facts and create an interest in them by way of impressions. The travel writer should do preliminary research of the place, make actual notes and be perceptive of people, customs and atmosphere along with landmarks and scenery. Photographs are an essential part to create visual impact of the article. A sophisticated writing style that includes imagery and has narrative dialogues or other fictive technique makes for interesting reading.

A travel article written in a pleasing style will attract the reader and arouse his curiosity about the places described in the piece.

Our Ultimate Reality Review – Good Or Bad?

Our Ultimate Reality Review – Good Or Bad?

After having a chance to read the ebook myself, I decided to write this Our Ultimate Reality review. Hopefully, after reading this short review you’ll have a good idea what the book is all about and if it is something that warrants your attention.

The subtitle of Adrian Cooper’s book, Our Ultimate Reality, is Life, the Universe and the Destiny of Mankind. It’s kind of heady subject matter, I must admit. While I’m a voracious reader, I sometimes struggle through such dense subjects and was initially concerned that the book wouldn’t be a pleasurable read. In fact, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get through it at all, much less actually comprehend what I was taking in. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only is the book readable, but it’s actually enjoyable as well.

In fact, I couldn’t get enough of the topic. Fortunately, when you pick up the Our Ultimate Reality ebook, you also receive the popular newsletter free of charge. Read by hundreds of thousands of people, it’s got a ton of valuable information, news and guidance for your destiny and life as you travel on this giant rock we call earth.

If you aren’t willing to take my word for it, you can read seven full chapters of Our Ultimate Reality free of charge to try it out. Detailing such important subjects as out of body experiences, the Eternal Now, imagination, astral projection and more, you’ll find yourself turning to this book time and time again. You’ll gain the ability to heal any disease no matter how serious it may seem, to visit where you go after ìdeathî and visit ìdeadî people and to contact your inner-self in order to find the answers to important questions.

Of course, those are just a few of the things you’ll get out of Our Ultimate Reality, which is why I wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s something that we all can benefit from, and I urge you to at least pick up the free chapters to see how you like it.

Choosing an Online Travel Website to Book Your Hawaii Vacation

Choosing an Online Travel Website to Book Your Hawaii Vacation

Would you like to take a trip to Hawaii? If so, you may want to start making your travel plans soon. When it comes to doing so, you will find that you have a number of different options. Out of all of those options, you may find online travel websites to be the best.

As nice as it is to hear that you should book your next Hawaii vacation through an online travel website, you may be looking for more information. For instance, there are multiple travel websites for you to choose from. Which one is the best? Before choosing an online travel website to book your trip through, there are a number of points that you will first want to take into consideration.

Reliability and reputation are important when choosing an online travel website. A small or relatively unknown website may work, but do you really want to take the chance on your dream vacation? Most travelers prefer using well-known websites to plan their trips and you may wish to do the same. If you find a great deal on another travel website, like one that isn’t as well known, do the proper amount of research first. A good name likely means a good reputation and that should translate into a good vacation for you.

Professionalism is another great way to gauge the reliability and reputation of an online travel website. Of course, anyone can create a professional looking website, but you may be surprised how many people don’t take the time to do so. If anything on the website of your choice looks unprofessional or suspicious, it may be best to move on and examine your other options. As previously stated, you can easily find a number of online travel websites that will allow you to book your next Hawaii vacation.

The number of partners an online travel website works with should also have an impact on your decision. As for partners, what hotels, airlines, and car rental companies work with the travel website? These are results that will appear when you perform a search for Hawaii airlines, Hawaii hotels, and Hawaii car rentals. When you choose to do business with an online travel website who has a lot of partners, your chances of saving money increase. This is because you are provided with more options, which can better allow you to price compare.

In keeping with examining an online travel website, is the site easy to use? Booking your Hawaii vacation online should be easy, not hard, frustrating, or time consuming. Are you able to find what you need right away? When you search for Hawaii hotels is that all you are getting or are you also getting hotels for other popular vacation destinations? An easy to navigate website should make it easier for you to examine your options, as well as book your trip with less errors.

It is also advised that you find a travel website that allows you to customize. This is important as we all have different wants and needs when taking a vacation. Are you looking for the most affordable airline reservations? Are your travel dates not flexible? Are you looking for the shortest flights to Hawaii? If so, choose an online travel website that allows you to customize your searches so that your options appear in order of affordability, availability, or time.

When choosing an online travel website to book your Hawaii vacation through, your wants should also be examined. Your wants are important with your overnight accommodations. Do you want to stay at a Hawaii hotel or a private vacation rental. As popular as Hawaii vacation homes, condos, apartment rentals, and villas are, not all well-known travel websites list them. Instead, you may need to search for a website that deals specifically with private vacation rentals.

Now you know what you should look for in an online travel website. Taking the time to choose a quality, reliable, and dependable website to book your next Hawaii vacation will likely result in a better trip and less disappointment for you.

What is a Travel Nurse?

What is a Travel Nurse?

What is a Travel Nurse?

A travel nurse is a licensed nurse who typically works in a hospital for a few months at a time before moving onto a different hospital in a different part of the country.

Hospitals like to hire travel nurses and other traveling health professionals for a variety of reasons. Travel nurses can bring a variety of experience and knowledge that a hospital can benefit from. Lots of times, a travel nurse can act as a mentor for other nurses that have just completed their training and are not yet comfortable and/or confident with their new professional status. Medical facility’s that have just opened will often hire the services of a travel nurse until they are up and running smoothly. The new, inexperienced staff will be able to benefit from the travel nurse’s previous work experience. Most travel nurses enjoy the experience of traveling, meeting and working with new co-workers, and hope to gain a well rounded work experience that will serve them when they settle on working full time at a specific medical facility. Many travel nurses claim that the experience allows them to develop a better understanding of their chosen specialty. These same travel nurses also claim that their unique work experiences have helped reintroduce them to patient focused nursing.

Before they start working at a new hospital, a travel nurse has already established an agreement with the hospital. This agreement states what salary the nurse will be making while she is working for the hospital. Before traveling to the new hospital the nurse knows how much of their travel expenses will be paid for. They also know where they will be living while they are working at the medical facility.

Travel nurses generally enjoy a more lucrative salary then they would receive if they worked in a single location. The salary the travel nurse earns is generally based on the location they are working; typically a travel nurse will not earn as much working in a hospital in a rural community as they will earn working in a large inner city hospital. Some nurses prefer travel nursing to nursing in a single medical facility because they enjoy the opportunity to see the world and other cultures. Working in a constantly changing location challenges a travel nurses knowledge and talents. The skills that travel nurse develop on their journeys are skills that they will be able to utilized when they settle on a home base.

Travel nurses find employment through a travel nursing service. This service pairs nurses with medical facilities that are seeking a travel nurse. The travel nursing service typically has a long and happy relationship with hospitals, medical facilities, and medical professionals. The nursing service helps reach agreements between the medical facility’s and the travel nurse. The travel nursing service will also be able to help the travel nurse make sure that they have the proper licensing to work in the state they are about to be going to.

Before a nurse can become a travel nurse there are a few professional criteria that they must complete first.

‘Shifts’ to Help You in Times Good or Bad

‘Shifts’ to Help You in Times Good or Bad

Six months ago, the economy was roaring. Stock prices were going up, interest rates were staying low, unemployment was down. A few months later, those indicators all were going in opposite directions. Now, it’s hard to tell from day to day where we stand.

I’m optimistic that the current situation is a short-term one, and that long-term prospects are for growth and good times. But that doesn’t mean that there won’t be dips, sometimes deep, along the way. The question is: Are you positioned to take advantage of the good times and navigate the bad?

You have to expect one as well as the other. Fortunately, there are “shifts” you can take that will serve you well during both.

1. Get out of debt. The quicker the better. You can’t take advantage of opportunities when you’re mired in debt. And there are opportunities in both good times and in bad. In both, debt keeps you from profiting from the opportunities that present themselves. In bad, it magnifies the negative, as the cost of money increases and debt service becomes an ever-increasing portion of your expenses.

2. Think globally. No longer can we afford to think and act locally. We must have a broader

vision. We must think about how our vocation, our business and our industry will operate in a global economy – because it already does.

3. Be entrepreneurial. This is the age of the free agent. Even if we are and plan to continue working in a larger company or organization, we must at least think like an entrepreneur. We need to be “in-trepreneurs.” Seniority and experience does not have the value that it did. Producing results – and profits – is what matters.

4. Become a capitalist. The wealthy own assets, the rest own liabilities – things that cost money to own and maintain. Capitalism is not a dirty word. A capitalist, by definition, is someone who owns assets – assets that produce income. Stock, equipment and businesses are assets that generate income. In America, 80 percent of all millionaires are self-made. Be one of them.

5. Be flexible. Things are moving at a rapid pace. This demands adaptability. Things will not remain the same, nor will they go back to the way they used to be. We must be willing to change directions quickly. It’s dodge and weave time. It is time to embrace change. Shift happens!

Why We Travel – To Find Or To Lose?

Posted in Dignity Travel

Why We Travel – To Find Or To Lose?

The enigmatic question, “Why do we travel” has intrigued thinkers and philosophers through the years and is best answered in the famous words of writer Pico Iyer, when he said, “We travel initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel next, to find ourselves.”

Do we really need to travel that much? If we find ourselves packing our bags and buying tickets, is it because we have to or is because we want to? It is estimated that 600 million people annually get into airplanes and travel.

When did traveling get so tremendously popular? Time was when so few people traveled, that when they did, it made big news. Christopher Columbus, the Italian Spanish navigator, made headlines when he sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean and discovered America. Marco Polo set sail determined to see distant lands and exotic people; he discovered China. His travels across the whole of China became the greatest travelogue of all times. While these two great travelers of their times were busy traveling the world and making history, where was everybody else? Taking a gondola ride to the neighboring island was the furtherest they dared to get.

We’ve come a long way since then. We travel, not to discover anything new (though that would surely be a feather in our collective caps); but to see what others before us have discovered and seen. We travel to snow-clad mountains so we can ski down the slopes and then we travel to sunny Mediterranean countries to bask in the sun. We travel so we can see first-hand the many man-made and natural wonders of the world that so far we’ve only seen in travel books. We travel because we believe that reading about a place or looking at its pictures is a poor substitute to actually getting there and feeling the pulse of the place and absorbing its culture. We travel the whole of India to sample its many different cuisines and then we travel to China to sample a different fare. We leave our televisions at home and travel across the world to catch the live action at the Wimbledon championships or the World Cup.

Most of all, we travel because the world’s become a smaller place. And with travel into Space becoming a distinct possibility, albeit a very expensive one, we’ll soon have yet another reason to travel.
